39th IAHR World Congress

The 39th International Association for Hydro-Environment Engineering and Research (IAHR) World Congress took place in 2022 in Granada, Spain, from 19-24 June.

The central theme of the congress, “From Snow to Sea,” linked the past with the present and focused on the importance of considering the integral water cycle to address present and future challenges.

Specific Congress Themes:

Theme 1: Human-water relationships
Theme 2: Snow, river and sediment management
Theme 3: Environmental hydraulics and urban water cycle
Theme 4: Hydraulic structures
Theme 5: Water resources management, valuing and resilience
Theme 6: Computational and experimental methods
Theme 7: Coasts, estuaries, shelves and seas
Theme 8: Extreme events: from droughts to floods
The outline programme, which is available online, consisted of High-level panels, regular sessions, special sessions, an exhibition and fair, and much more.
