ECFAS Contributes to CEMS GA 2022

ECFAS was delighted to join the Copernicus Emergency Services community in celebrating 10-years of service, during the CEMS General Assembly from 13-14 October, 2022.

This annual event brings together the disaster and risk management community into a discussion on the impact and evolution of the CEMS service. This year’s anniversary event focused on showcasing CEMS contribution to improving emergency response and disaster risk management over the last decade.

ECFAS provided a perspective on the potential future evolution of the service to include coastal areas vulnerable to flooding. ECFAS coordinator, Dr. Clara Armaroli, IUSS, represented the ECFAS consortium with a presentation entitled, “A proof-of-concept for the implementation of a European Copernicus coastal flood awareness system (ECFAS).”

During the event, ECFAS was also promoted by Mercator Ocean International‘s Scientific Director, Dr. Piere Yves La Tron, during his intervention on Partnerships and synergies within the Copernicus Ecosystem.
