il Resto del Carlino is an Italian newspaper based in Bologna, and is one of the oldest newspapers in Italy. On 25 November, 2022, the newspaper ran an article entitled, “Dune umide e ’cuscinetti’ Così si limitano le maree,” meaning, “Wet dunes and ‘cushions’ This is how the tides are limited,” that featured ECFAS.
Prof. Paolo Ciavola, Consorzio Futuro in Ricerca/University of Ferrara, contributed to the article, which dealt with the longer-lasting impacts of extreme storms and coastal flooding events, such as those still felt in the Po Delta, Emilia Romagna, Italy, following cyclone Denise that hit the Italian coast on 22 November, 2022. ECFAS was mentioned as a means to flood management, and better prevention of impacts on property and people.
