ECFAS’ partners from Universitet Politecnica de Valencia (UPV) were in Bari, Italy, this week to coach the participants of the Copernicus Bari Hackathon.
The team took advantage of the opportunity to meeting with counterparts at Planetek Italia on 26 May, to showcase the tools for automatic shoreline extraction developed by CGAT-UPV. These tools included ECFAS’ Shoreline Extraction and Analysis Tool (SAET) and a sub-pixel automated shoreline extraction workflow known as SHOREX, previously developed by the UPV team.
By sharing these ECFAS tools with private sector companies such as Planetek Italia (PKI), the potential for later uptake and exploitation of the products increase. ECFAS is looking forward to continuing to cooperate with PJKI and others towards more complete and resilient coastal flood awareness and management.
