ECFAS recently took part in the Copernicus webinar showcasing Copernicus, its uses and benefits, “Copernicus for the preservation of cultural heritage”, which took place online on 22 September 2022. The aim of the webinar was to understand the benefits of remote sensing for cultural heritage monitoring, protection, and management. This webinar focused on the vulnerability of selected cultural heritage sites to natural and anthropogenic threats. , with participation by global actors such as UNESCO and DG DEFIS.
Stelios Bollanos, Director of Planetek Hellas, contributed to the webinar with an intervention entitled, “Copernicus based core & downstream example products for Cultural Heritage,” which included reference to ECFAS and its potential as a new Copernicus emergency service.
